(From Press Release)
BRP is unveiling the Can-Am Spyder RT (roadster touring) in response to specific consumer demand for a touring model. The Can-Am Spyder RT is powered by a Rotax 991 engine with Electronic Throttle Control optimized for touring. The RT features the same BOSCH-engineered Vehicle Stability System (VSS) as found in the Spyder RS roadster, which includes anti-lock brakes, traction control and stability control systems. The VSS, coupled with the inherent stability of the roadster's "Y-architecture’"and overall ease of use reinvents riding for enthusiasts of all skill levels.

The RT has all of the features a rider (and passenger) would need for a cross-county ride or weekend trip like an adjustable touring windshield, dual passenger heated grips, cruise control, an electronic gauge cluster with a full color display, audio system with optional iPod integration and adjustable passenger footpegs. For those longer trips, BRP has created an industry first with a 622-liter capacity fully-suspended trailer to create a combined carrying capacity of 777 liters – more than you’ll find in a Jeep Compass or Nissan Rogue.
The 2010 Can-Am Spyder roadster line-up will also include a Spyder RS (roadster sport) and RS-S. The RS-S was added to the 2010 line-up for those who want a premium Spyder sport experience, with a Limited Edition Pearl White color, stitched seat and custom wheels. Tested the RT. Think it's great. Can't wait till delivery day. I'm sure they will be a big hit down under.

Hi to Barb (posted 1.7.2010) in Havre de Grace, MD. I just took ownership of my new 2010 Spyder RT-S Premier Edition with GPS on Wednesday, last week (Feb 2). It's a dream. Everything's been thought out so well. We're under 2 1/2 feet of snow currently; and to be followed by another 18 inches or so tomorrow (Feb 9th); but that'll put us on the down-hill toward March and hopefully some rideable weather. Can't wait!

I like what I see, but it's all in seeing it in person and test driving to make this comment worthwhile. I own a 2008 Spyder that I truly love and enjoy riding. I also have a Gold Wing trike, so if the looks and ride is as good as they say it is, I'm willing to make a change and go for this touring Spyder.

I recently took one of these on a test ride and was very disappointed at the lack of power with two people aboard. I also didn't like the handlebar setup because when I turned hard right or left the tip of the grips poked me in the stomach area. Finally, for me this trike has way to many electronics aboard. I don't believe you could ever push start this in case of battery failure.
