A mechanic’s unique homegrown three-wheeler
By Ted Hagen, White Post, Virginia
10/10/2011:
I have been riding motorcycles for 45 years. I started riding in the fall of 1966, when I turned 16. By my recollection, I’ve owned 19 different two-wheelers, and my trike makes 20 bikes altogether.

How one home-built trike turned into 21
By Bob Bennett, Sacramento, California
1/31/2011:
I became interested in trikes shortly after I purchased a Gold Wing in the summer of 2001. It had been about 20 years since I last rode the big bikes, and after a couple rides on the new bike, I realized I just wasn't enjoying it like I once did. I had grown older—I’m 59 now—and the big touring bikes have grown bigger and heavier.

Light, agile, no trunk to weigh it down
By Molly Kight, Arroyo Grande, California
11/9/2010:
Test riding trikes is one of my favorite activities. READER STORY: Big Fun With Big Red
A trike allows her to stay on the road
By Christine Burman, Amherst, Ohio
7/17/2009:
I have had a love for motorcycles since I was in my early twenties. My brother rode and told us that if we "girls" got bikes and learned to ride, then we could all ride together. I got my first bike in 1974 and my mother got hers in 1975. We rode for about a year, and then my brother got other interests. Mother and I rode for a little, but then the bikes went into the garage.

READER STORY: My MP3 and Me
I don't fit in but that's fine with me
By Jacquie Roberts, Austin, Texas
5/14/2009:
Gas prices were up to $4 a gallon for regular. I played with the notion of getting a scooter or motorcycle. On a whim, I stopped by the Vespa dealership. That's when I saw it, the Piaggio MP3. It has two wheels in the front with independent suspension and a tilt lock that can hold the bike upright when engaged. With the tilt lock disengaged the bike can lean up to 40 degrees.
